Ingredients – Avocado, dates, banana, vanilla, agave nectar, organic cocoa powder
After trying to make a vegan cake aux prunes and failing (my friends called my really dense cake aux prunes…the brick!), I decided to cheer myself up with a wee chocolate mousse. It is hard to fell when trying to make a chocolate dessert! This recipe is very simple and can be slightly altered to suit your taste. Be imaginative, add coconut flakes, chopped nuts or more vanilla…I added chopped nuts to my mousse this is why it looks crunchy and not smooth. Enjoy this nearly guilt free treat!
Here is how to make this mousse for 2:
1 big avocado
1/2 ripe banana
1 tsp of vanilla
9 dates (I used Iranian dates)
3 tbsp of cocoa powder
3 tbsp of agave nectar
1 handful of chopped nuts (optional)
– Blend the avocado, banana and dates together.
– Once smooth, add the vanilla, agave nectar and cocoa powder.
– Blend well and add the nuts (optional).
– Eat NOW or be civilized and put it in the fridge for 30 minutes just to exercise your self control!
